There are plenty of mantras available in all the religions but most of us mere try to read and memories the words used in the mantras rather than understanding the deep message from the mantras.

When we select a word or series of words to repeat in the form of mantra,we are affirming it to ourselves and allowing its meaning to seep below the surface, into our subconscious mind , Helping our negative habits and patterns into positive ones.

There are some popular and powerful mantras which i personally practice and get benefits out of it,particularly whenever my mind starts to create errors then mantras are helping lot to get calibrated with the master mind stored in my subconscious mind.
Every one says the word OM is sound of the universe but also that connect your body, mind and soul while chanting “OM”.

Om Namah shivaya it means “I Bow to shiva , the supreme deity of transformation who represents the truest, highest self. This is really great mantra to improve your self confidence, reminding us that we are all made up of divine energy hence we should treat ourselves accordingly.
Five sacred words in Na- mah- shi- va- ya which represents the five elements of earth, water, fire, air, space.while chanting the mantra OM NAMAHSHIVAYA creates awareness to the elements presents in the body and purifies them

The process of wearing sacred thread at the age of 8 years, the sacred thread called yagyopaveet , it has three threads and has one knot. yagyopaveet made up of three words as Yagya+up+paveet , the meaning of yagya is best of best actions, up means near and veet means obtained, spread.
The sacred thread is worn to desire to do best of best things for the guru, family and society. Knot in the thread indicates pledge to do best of best things , similarly in hindu religion more importance given to knot as like nuptial chain (Mangalsutra) in wedding ceremony.
The length of the Yajñopavītam is generally 96 times the breadth of four fingers of a man, which is believed to be equal to his height. Each of the four fingers represents one of the four states that the soul of a man experiences: waking, dreaming, dreamless sleep and knowledge of the absolute.
The thread is donned upon with the recitation of the following mantra:
Shraut smaart vihit nitya-karmaa anushthaan sadaachar yogyataa siddhyaartham, Brahm-tejas abhivrittyaartham, yagyopaveet dhaaranam karishye.
Wearing vagyopaveet is a holy sadhana. Sādhanā (Sanskrit: साधना) literally  “a means of accomplishing something”, is an ego transcending spiritual practice. Therefore, yagvopaveet is worn starting from left shoulder, passing over the heart and goes backwards on the right ending in a knot.
Left shoulder is the base for carrying the load of life with tolerance. Heart is the point of determination and faith. Back is a symbol of commitment, Thus yagyopaveet represents the sadhana of the purest of pure with determination, courage, faith, commitment and a spirit of toleration.
It is not necessary that only brahmins people must wear the sacred thread as mentioned above , if anybody is willing to do best of best things in life then it is suggested to wear the sacred thread and take pledge on daily basis.
In addition to that there are many benefits for human body, If a Janeu is tied on one’s ears it helps increases one’s memory and also helps in preventing constipation and keeps the stomach disease-free.
It is a scientifically proven fact that a vein passing through the ear regulates the flow of urine. Therefore, when the boy wears the sacred thread around his ear while passing urine, he is unconsciously helping his urinary system to regulate the urine flow, thus keeping his urinary system, bladder, etc. healthy and free of problems.
Every year we need to change the sacred thread and wear the new one,When we change the old threads then we need to cut one thread from the set of three, it means we have completed the action item of the year. As we take new year resolution every year in our personal life same way we need to decide new goal for the year by changing the sacred thread , also we go through the refresher training again on the same rules and regulations mentioned in vedas.
